Red Oak Presbyterian Church to Host

Annual New Year's Day Dinner, Noon, January 1.

This traditional dinner has been held since the Civil War. Come, celebrate the start of the New Year,

Christian Fellowship, and the love of Jesus Christ. 

We'll serve up good times with good people who will provide a bounty of delicious New Year's dishes like sauerkraut, pork, cabbage, ham, and other goodies.

And, if you're a musician, bring along your

instrument for a sing along.

Welcome Pastor Jeff McKinney

Red Oak Presbyterian Church would like to welcome

Jeff McKinney to our Church. He will be serving

as Pastor for the  first three months of 2024.

He Earned a Master of Divinity degree at Wake Forest, NC, through Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary,

and since then have served in a variety of mostly

bi-vocational ministries. 

His involvement with the PCUSA began in 1999 when he served as minister of Christian Education at First Presbyterian Church, Jackson, OH.

 

He has also done a lot of work over the years on committees at the Presbyterian congregation in Jackson, Ohio, including the Session, Christian Education, Pulpit Nominating Committee, and Earth Care Congregation. 

 

Most recently, he served the Presbytery of Scioto Valley in pulpit supply, including three years pastoring two very small Welsh congregations in rural Appalachia from 2013-2016. 

 

Pastor McKinney is currently a member of

Knox Presbyterian Church, Cincinnati, Ohio.

 

In addition to his Pastoral work, Jeff has 11 years full time experience as a case manager for a behavioral health agency in a traditionally underserved area with 25% poverty rate.   Simultaneously he worked half-time as a social studies teacher in a credit recovery school associated with the local public school district.

Welcome New Member, Gary Morgan

Gary is the son of the late Shirley Brierly, a former Clerk of Session and long-time member of the Red Oak Presbyterian Church. Lisa Corum performed the baptism. 

October 15th, 2023

Mary Ruth Salisbury Howlett Elected Church Elder

Mary is a 5th-generation member of the Red Oak Presbyterian Church, and descended from the original founders. She has been serving as Clerk of Session, and will continue in that role.
